In der Vorweihnachtszeit versucht Familie Swan Gutes zu tun und schrammt völlig am Ziel vorbei. Mutter Brechtje wird ‚gecancelt‘, ohne zu verstehen, warum. Ihr Ehemann Martijn verliebt sich in seine jüngere Arbeitskollegin. Schwiegersohn Justus begibt sich auf eine donquichotteske Suche nach seiner Männlichkeit. Tochter Jos möchte die Welt mit Toleranz und Aufgeschlossenheit verändert – bis ihre Freundin einen Dreier will. Und dann steht auch noch das alljährliche Weihnachtsessen an.

In the run-up to Christmas, the Swan family completely misses the point in trying to be good. Brechtje, the mother, gets ‘cancelled’, without understanding why. Her husband, Martijn, falls in love with his younger colleague. Justus, the son-in-law, gets lost in a Don Quichotesque quest for his masculinity. While Jos, the daughter, tries to change the world around with tolerance and open mindedness – until her girlfriend wants to have a threesome. And all of that happens just before their annual Christmas dinner.
