Funny, strange, awkward, yet possibly tender, this program shows short films that deal with queer romance and care, but also the politics of image-making and the intimacy that carries. In You can´t get what you want but you can get me, we are invited on an emotional ride, accompanying the relationship between two transmasculine persons across continents. Feet Fear Freedom tells the possibly not so romantic and sometimes comedic relationship between the body-owner and a body part that is often fetishized in queer community: feet. Next up, the river that never ends is a tender exploration of a Filipinx trans woman’s life in her double role as care/sexworker and a daughter. In Naval Gays, the filmmaker links feelings of insecurity and dating with the act of filmmaking itself. Crazy Lotus brings us onto the full-on journey of pop idols, Thai music, and digital space for self-alienation, as the characters found the Heart Glasses that would bring them onto another realm of avatar possibility.

Lustig, seltsam, unbeholfen und trotzdem zärtlich – dieses Programm zeigt Kurzfilme, die sich mit queerer Romantik und Fürsorge, aber auch mit der Politik des Bildermachens und der damit verbundenen Intimität beschäftigen. In You can’t get what you want but you can get me werden wir auf eine emotionale Reise eingeladen, die die Beziehung zwischen zwei transmaskulinen Personen über Kontinente hinweg begleitet. Feet Fear Freedom erzählt die möglicherweise nicht ganz so romantische und manchmal komödiantische Beziehung zwischen dem/der Körperbesitzer*in und einem Körperteil, das in der queeren Gemeinschaft oft fetischisiert wird: den Füßen. Der nächste Film, The River that never ends, ist eine zärtliche Erkundung des Lebens einer philippinischen Transfrau in ihrer Doppelrolle als Pflegekraft/Sexarbeiterin und Tochter. In Naval Gays verknüpft der Filmemacher Gefühle der Unsicherheit und Verabredungen mit dem Akt des Filmemachens selbst. Crazy Lotus nimmt uns mit auf die Reise zu Pop-Idolen, thailändischer Musik und einem digitalen Raum der Selbstentfremdung, während die Figuren die Herzgefäße finden, die sie in eine andere Welt der Avatar-Möglichkeiten bringen.
